CR P.6 CURVES PROJECT
Costilla County applied for and was awarded a grant from the Colorado Department of Transportation who supervises the monies from the Federal Department of Transportation Grants.
This project involves widening the two curves located on CR P.6, East of the Town of San Luis. ACI Constructor of Alamosa was awarded the bid and the project will start early Spring of 2007. |

SAN LUIS BRIDGE REHABILITATION PROJECT
Costilla County applied for and was awarded a State Historical Fund grant to rehabilitate the San Luis Bridge located South of the Town of San Luis on the Culebra River. The contract to begin the project will be signed in 2007 and Engineers will be sought out to provide the construction drawings for the project. After the drawings are approved by the SHF, the project will go out for bid. |

RATTLESNAKE TRESTLE GRANT APPLICATION Costilla County is in the process of writing a design grant for the rehabilitation of the Rattlesnake Trestle Bridge located SW of Smith Reservoir. The Trestle was placed on the National Register of Historic Bridges in large part to the efforts of Commissioner Gallegos who did the grunt work to obtain the historic designation of the trestle. |

VETERAN’S PARK T33A DISPLAY
Costilla County was loaned the aircraft shown in the photo below, for displaying at the Veteran’s Park located in Fort Garland (on CR HH West of Hwy 159). The county is in the process of arranging for the transport of the plane from Battle Mountain, NV to Fort Garland. |
